Navatec bar-mouse sales pick up
Since Navatec first launched their innovative bar-mouse, the bar code reading mouse, homes, offices and businesses have begun to take this amazing product seriously. Like a normal mouse it connects via a USB. The price of $100 is oustanding value when compared with the cost of a separate mouse and an equivalent quality bar code reader for around $175.
Bar-mouse is becoming widely used in offices and homes because it has been found to be safer than having two separate devices, one for reading bar codes and the other, a mouse, for navegating and clicking. This results in those extra cables which tend to get caught up in documents and cause accidents by upsetting mugs with hot drinks. Just about everyone who uses a PC can use a mouse effectively and now, scan bar codes.
Fast & low cost transition to bar code technology
Businesses are discovering that the fastest and cheapest route to bar code technology is to just substitute the mouse on each PC with a Navatec bar-mouse. |

BrowsaWorks is proud to announce that we will be providing the online servicing of Navatec.com non-branded services. Non-branded services are online business applications which can carry the names of customers in order to maintain their corporate identity when their own customers use the system.
Navatec provide a very large range of online business services and more information can be found at their web site
At the web site the section entitled sever-based management explains how Navatec's server based management impacts business performance and reduces costs.
Non-branded? So what is branded?
Navatec.com provide a range of branded online business applications known by their service name. Examples include AgriComex, the International Agricultural Commodity Exchange, AgroTrade, AgroTraceability the food chain traceability service, HowFresh? the consumer information service and others.
A North American version of AgroTraceability wil be launched this fall called AgriTraceability. The keeping of food traceability records became mandatory in America with the BioTerrorism legislation of 2002.
Green - power for the good
Consumers will soon be able to find out where their fresh produce comes from, how fresh it is, whether or not it is 100% organic and other details on how the food was produced. A new initiative, managed by Navatec.com, called How Fresh? uses traceability numbers or bar codes on food wrappers or boxes to allow consumers gain access to a lot of information on any food carrying the STG food traceability code.
STG Codes driving a Green revolution
Earlier this year Navatec launched the AgroTraceability service to help farmers and fisheries enterprises comply with law food chain laws by recording traceability information on food. Traceability records help guide investigators to the source of contamination as well as localise and identify food which is likely to be contaiminated. The speedy removal of such food from the market protects consumers.
AgroTraceability makes use of the Seel-Telesis®-Global traceability coding (STG Codes) has been field tested by agronomists working with the Agricultural Development Foundation. STG Codes provide a unique identification of farms, fishing vessels, and even fields. It also enables a batch of food from a single harvest to be "traced" through packing, processing and even when several batches of food from different farms are combined. This makes it possible to subsequently trace back to individual components making up a batch.
Producer-Consumer orientation
The combination of the How Fresh? system with the serious business of food chain traceability represents a true green revolution. In the past, farmers have always sold into a buyers market where produce is mixed with other products to produce bulk "commodities"; a farm's produce becomes indistinguishable from others. AgroTraceability and How Fresh? have changed all of that. If a farmer takes really good care of his production systems, produces a top quality product, harvested at the right time, then How Fresh? offers consumers a real choice and they can reward the farmer by buying that product. This green revolution does not end there. In the past, whenever contamination of food occurred, farmers were often the least able to defend their interests because of the lack of reliable records. The AgroTraceability service manage traceability records on behalf of its customers and maintain an open access system through online portals serving the market areas of the European Union and North America. These services generate fully comprehensive records within seconds. Many see this system as an important assurance for farmers by helping defend them against unfair litigation. |
